Can my husband go on pension credits?

My husband is on ESA support group and I'm on his claim he gets pip and I get carers we were told by are adviser that husband can go on to pension credits on his birthday which he will be 62 is this true

Your husband can not claim pension credit, until he reaches state pension age.
