After completing my PhD I thought life was fab. Then my whole world crashed. I was raped which set off my mental breakdown. I jumped from a viaduct and am now disabled. Poetry and writing have helped me through and I need to help others if a can.

Hi @EinsteinEyes
Welcome to the community, I am so sorry to hear about what you have been through but so glad you are here on the community. Creativity can be such a brilliant way to heal and process trauma and I am glad to hear you have found something that has helped you.
Have you ever had any councelling or talking therapy or support for the assault or breakdown? The Survivors Trust (TST) is a UK-wide national umbrella agency for 130 specialist organisations for support for the impact of rape, sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse throughout the UK and Ireland, if you are interested in finding out more about what they offer, you may like to look at their website. You may also want to call the Samaritans on 116 123 (free) or email them at [email protected] or look on the MIND website
Thank you for sharing your story, I hope you can help others too.
