Hi all,
I have applied for new style contribution based ESA and was wondering how long the process takes?
I went to the JC 2 weeks ago and handed in the form and ID and had the initial interview but have heard nothing back yet. How long is realistic to wait before contacting them to find out what is going on? I have another Fit Note to hand in next week.

Hello and welcome, you can always phone DWP for any information and updates on your claim is progressing.

HI,Usually about 3-4 weeks but you lose the first 7 days of your claim. Hopefully you've claimed the correct benefit because i've lost count of the amount of people that claim Universal credit instead of New Style Contributions based ESA.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
