Can anyone tell me what the criteria is for me to be eligible to receive carer’s allowance?

I am a carer for my husband who has Alzheimer’s.  I am currently unemployed but am trying to find part-time work to fit in with my husband’s needs.  Can anyone tell me what the criteria is for me to be eligible to receive carer’s allowance?  I have not applied so far but my husband receives lower level Attendance Allowance.

You can apply for Carer's Allowance as your husband is receiving Attendsnce Allowance. You can read more about Carer's Allowance here.

Thank you Ami2301 and Steve51 for your quick replies.  Steve51: I will let you know if I need help with my claim.  Looks like I need to get a P45 from my last temp job first to make my Claim.  Hopefully the forms aren’t too difficult.
