PIP appeal clashes with holiday

Hi - i have just received my court date for my PIP appeal and my son has booked a 2 week holiday and is taking me with him and his family and we fly 2 days before my court date - has anyone tried to change a court date - when i rang they said they might not change it and go ahead with my appeal with me not attending - i'm really worrying about it all now

You request a postponement in writing and keep a copy. You need to provide full details as to why it’s important to take this holiday ahead of determining your future income bearing in mind you had an opportunity to detail your availability in the original SSCS1 appeal form and to inform HMCTS if any changes after that.
