PIP appeal clashes with holiday

Hi - i have just received my court date for my PIP appeal and my son has booked a 2 week holiday and is taking me with him and his family and we fly 2 days before my court date - has anyone tried to change a court date - when i rang they said they might not change it and go ahead with my appeal with me not attending - i'm really worrying about it all now

At the end of the day I would presume that the Tribunal will have to decide how it wants to hear the appeal - in person or using documentation only.
