Question on SDP while being a lodger

Hi all,
I'm applying for back-dated SDP for the past 1.5 years. While I was researching it I began to wonder whether I should have been receiving it while I was living in my last home.
I was a lodger in a private home, so I lived with my landlord. I had my own bedroom, but shared the kitchen, living room and bathroom. I paid rent to my landlord. My landlord wasn't related to me, nor was he my partner. I was getting ESA and PIP, and I didn't have a carer.
I can't find anything about this online. Any ideas?
