Welcome to the community @graham1234! Waiting times can vary drastically according to where you live, so it may be a good idea to call the DWP using the phone number on your letters and ask if they can clarify.

    Hi,

By appeal do you mean Tribunal or MR? If it's Tribunal then waiting times can be as long as 1 year in some areas.

For MR then there's no timescales but could be 8 weeks or more.

    Hi,

You won't get confirmation that they received it. It doesn't mean they'll wait a month before looking at it. How ever long it takes will depend on the backlog in your area. There's no timescales for decisions.

You have to take into consideration the backlog of people waiting. If the MR decision remains the same and most do then waiting times for a Tribunal hearing are a year in a lot of areas. It's not a quick process.
