This might be late in the day, but as of 16th Jan, the SDP gateway conditions are in place (having been put into law just days before). Prior to that, they were nothing more than an announcement. Now, anyone who already has SDP cannot go on UC, which is a lot more complicated than it sounds. I would suggest you go get advice local to you asap. Some people have held out until 16th Jan, others claimed earlier hoping for the backdate, but you should go and get relevant advice to your situation, it's the only way to be sure
