After having had brain surgery it has left me in a lot of pain and with depression. It would be good to talk to someone with these sort of issues so that we can offer support to each other.

Thankyou for replying to me. Out of all my friends and family I am the only one with Brain Injury and I would like someone to talk to who will understand so that I won’t feel alone at times.

Hi @ArNoLdChIaRiSuFfErEr
Yes we do become the only one’s in our “family’s & friends” who have had a B/I.
They all don’t really understand as we become “The Hidden Disables”
Please let me know if you need any help/support???

Thankyou @steve51. Because you look ok people think you are ok. I like doing lots of puzzles and games on my iPad because it makes me think. How do you cope with B/I ? Have you had it for a long time?

Hi @steve51
How are you?
Sorry to hear about your stroke.
I have had had brain surgery due to a condition called Arnold Chiari. It is where the brain is too big for the skull which causes lots of neurological problems including chronic head pains every time I coughed, laughed or sneezed. The surgeon had to remove the cerebellum tonsils which has relieved the head pains but have made the other symptoms worse.
I often laugh at myself which helps. Like you I take each day at a time and try to listen to my body otherwise I have two or three bad days.0 -
Hi @ Ami230
How are you today?
We have just got back home after having dinner at our local nurseries. Am just chilling in the conservatory. My husband is a happy bunny because his favourite football team has won Everton has won 1-0 to Arsenal.
Hope you’re having a good day.0 -
I am good thank you @ArNoLdChIaRiSuFfErEr how are you? It sounds like you've had a nice day!0

Yes I have thanks and it will get better because we will have our grandson staying with us tomorrow till Wednesday for the Easter Holidays. He is our little ray of sunshine @ Ami2301. Have you been on this website page for long?0

Oh bless! I'm sure you all will have a lovely time
I have been a member of the community since February 2018 but had to take 3-4 months out as I was very poorly but I am in much better health now and I love being here so much!

Hi @ArNoLdChIaRiSuFfErEr
I’m not to bad today thanks.
How are you doing?????
Wow I had the Stroke in my Cerebellum.
It was caused by a “AVM”
This is a cluster of abnormal blood vessels.
This has effected both sides of my body.
I no longer have a “good side” anymore
@steve510 -
@steve51
Oh my gosh. I can relate to what you’re probably going through. Do you get depression with it? My right side was affected with pain. The neurologist said it is as if I have had a stroke. My brain has reprogrammed itself since surgery. . I love going out with friends and family and meeting other people. Although I have to pace myself otherwise I will have at least two or three bad days.
Are you in a wheelchair too? I hope you have got a good support network?0 -
Hi @ArNoLdChIaRiSuFfErEr
That’s Great!!!!
My Stroke in1998 took out my left side.
And I have had many operations/tests since.
I had Radiation Treatment in 2005 that gave me “Chronic Pain” down my right side.
“Not Good”
I don’t think “Glue & Radiation” is a great mix.

Hi @steve51
How are you today? We had our grandson staying with us this past couple of days as it is the Easter holidays. We took him to Clacton on Tuesday and yesterday we took him to Norfolk for the steam engines. He is great fun to have around. I am chilling now as much as we enjoy having him it is very tiring.
Take care.0 -
