hi today i got a copy of my assessment and I have 12 points in the mobility part, I really want a mobility car. It’s says I need a review in 12 monthes. My application start date was 16th Jan.what I’m worried about is you need 12 monthes remaining so if it starts on 16th jan does that mean I won’t be eligable?TIA

Is that the assessment report or the decision letter ?

You need to wait for the decision letter before you can do anything. You also need the PIP award when you go to a car dealer of your choice. You need at least a 12 month award to have the mobility car, then your mobility payments are used for the car and you'll receive just the daily living part.

Ok, that is just a recommendation to the DWP. Usually the DWP will go with the report but not always. A review period recommended will normally see the award length a year longer, as reviews normally take place a year before the end date. So with a review at twelve months your award length should be 2 years.

I realise I need to wait for decision letter but was worried that if my claim started January 4 months of my 22 months would be gone and I wouldn’t be eligible for motability x Thanks for your reply it’s very helpful0

Do think very carefully before signing up with Motability. There is no guarantee that you will keep the award when you are next reviewed and the car will have to be returned. We see this happening almost weekly on the forum.
