Good evening the situation is as above. A family member received his decision stripping him of mobility and lowering his care award. We have sent this week a letter in support of mandatory reconsideration.
the letter wont have been received yet and today another award review form has been sent through the post. What on earth can this mean. I will get person concerned to call them but obviously not until Monday now. The letter has a date a month from now on which they want to have received the completed form. Has anyone had something similar happen ? I cannot find any other instance of this while we wait it out to call them on Monday.

@lor2126, hello and welcome, has the person losing their mobility award transferred from DLA to PIP ? When you requested an MR did you request it over the phone if so follow it up with a written request stating which descriptors you are contesting and give several examples of what happened the last time they had done theses activities and what the outcome was highlighting the reasons for the MR. Phone DWP on Monday and find out about the most recent letter. Keep the community updated.

Hi no they were already receiving PIP and it was simply a review. We have now found out what it means, we can hardly believe it.
The initial assessment review form came in the post dated 1st January 2019.filled in and returned, Face to face not done until May where assessor recommendation was review at eighteen months, Decison makers letter arrived dated 23 May stripping person of mobility and lowering care, we call asking for Mandatory Reconsideration and following this with supporting letter. 1st June New assessment review letter sent exactly one year before award finishes, as this is what they do apparently, even tho it’s only a WEEK after decision makers decision..
Imam at a loss here, we have made a new appointment with the person who helps with form filling and at our MPs surgery, meanwhile my ill relative who has poor mental.health and is fighting cancer is adamant he doesn’t have the strength for any more.
If you got this far, any advice is appreciated0 -
