Moving

i am due to move in September, back to Warwickshire, where I grew up. My disability means I have to use a mobility scooter and I live pretty cut off from much where I am. I have been trying to save up as money as I can for removals, but my washing machine and then my mobility scooter packed up and I have had to replace them. Does anyone know of a charity which can help disabled people with moving?

HI,Do you claim any benefits at all? If you do then depending on what you claim it maybe possible to claim a budgeting loan, how you much can get will depend on circumstances. https://www.gov.uk/budgeting-help-benefitsThis needs to be re-paid back from future benefit payments. There maybe a rent/bond deposit scheme available from your local council. https://england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice/private_renting/rent_deposit,_bond_and_guarantee_schemesFor actual help with moving then i don't know of anything but others may offer some advice.Good luck with the move.

Hello!
Good luck with the move. What benefits do you claim? Make sure you tell your local council. They may be able to assist you. Find out about supported accommodation schemes as well.1 -
Hi @liz224 and a very warm welcome to the community.
This information on moving house with a disability might be helpful. There is also a grant checker which would see if you were entitled to anything.
I hope the move goes well and please do let us know how it goes!1 -
Welcome to the community @liz224. I hope the information here has been useful and that your move goes well.1

I wonder if free-cycling might be able to provide a washer. Look on local sites. Do you belong to a support group for your condition? They helped me out in the past with a grant. Good luck0
