It is Roald Dahl Day today! And to celebrate we'd love you to share your favourite Roald Dahl book, character or quote! I was so excited to find the Roald Dahl website which sells not only books, but loads of cute stuff like tea cups, badges and gifts <3

My favourite Roald Dahl book is George's Marvellous Medicine but I have to say one of my favourite quotes is from The Twits;

"A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.”

What is your favourite Roald Dahl book, character or quote?

    @April2018mom I saw it at the cinema when it came out in 2016. Just checked and I don't think it is on Netflix yet.

    Thanks for this @Sam_Scope.  I didn't realise it was Roald Dahl Day today.  His books are fab and the movies too!  I love Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.  The Oompa-Loompahs are just awesome!  :smiley:

    Mr Twit is easily my favourite. He just seems like my kinda guy.

    As far as a favourite book goes: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory left me in awe as a chiddler, because the idea of living in a chocolate factory has always, understandably, appealed (Cadbury World was a bit disappointing by comparison!)

    'A person is a fool to become a writer. His only compensation is absolute freedom. He has no master except his own soul, and that, I am sure, is why he does it.'

    As a chocoholic  it has to be Charlie from 'Charlie & The Chocolate Factory'. I love James with his giant peach too!

    Loved that book. It was one of those books I avoided for a long time because it looked less colourful than his other stories and immediately realised what I'd been missing.

    I always loved Matilda! I got to see it at the theatre a few months ago and absolutely loved what they had done with the story!
