There are various possible multiple issues what can combine to cause Autism and each individual can have difererent sets of issues requiring various different type of support and understanding.
you could have a look at my PubMed Autism research paper collection which is listed on my Wikipedia user pages "Invisible Disabilities" sub section at

Hello @sjones!
Welcome to Scope.
There are lots of ways to support him. Have you contacted the National Autism Society or not? They have lots of autism resources for families affected by autism. https://www.autism.org.uk
Find a support group. Look on Facebook or join a online forum. Not only will they act as your sounding board, they can help you on your bad days etc. -
Ive joined National Autism Society.....thanks for your help ?

Hello @Sjones and a warm welcome to the community. How old is your nephew?
It's great you want to support your him and are looking for ways to help. I think arming yourself with knowledge is really important, as is understanding that no two people with Autism are the same.
There are a lot of myths and incorrect understandings of Autism around and this feature is a good starting point to understanding the condition and dispelling some of the myths. www.ambitiousaboutautism.org.uk/understanding-autism/about-autism/myths-about-autism
All the best to you and your family, please keep in touch and let us know how you're getting on. -
He is 13 years old. Thanks for your help.
