Hi there my name is Paula I’m 47 married with 2 daughters aged 23 and 25 and a grandson aged 20 months. I have joined this group as my major problem is chronic pain however have several other health problems including Brittle Asthma (goes from nothing to life threatening in flick of switch). I have Hypothyroidism and a blood complaint called Polycytheamia Vera(basically bone marrow makes too many platelets and interferes with other blood cells)and just to finish depression. Other than that I’m fit as a fiddle!
I have been in hospital so many times for different reasons but in last 10 years really has mainly been because of asthma leading to intensive care.
However the thing that rules my life is Constant Chronic Pain hence why I’m joining this group.I have 2 degenerated discs at bra level and 2 herniated discs at lumbar/sacral area.I also suffer with muscle spasms in my back kinda near bottom of my ribs on left side leading to nerve pain that travels from back round my side to the front and under my ribs.
Well that’s me you probably think blimey do we really want her on our books! But I thought will give it a go nothing ventured nothing gained.Look forward to maybe hearing from anyone xx Ps sorry for the VERY long introduction.

Hello @akela6th and a warm welcome to the community. You sound like you've had a lot on for the last few years and I'm glad you found us.
We do have a chronic pain group that might be of use to you, but can I ask what sort of pain relief you're receiving at the moment?

Hello @akela6th   Pleased to meet you welcome.

Thank you for joining and sharing. Sorry to hear your in pain.

You have come to the right place for support, advice, information and friendship.

I am one of the team of community champions. We guide, advise and help new members who join the community.

Please have a look around our website . We are friendly, care and share.

Please can I ask have you tried acupuncture for any pain relief. Some say it does help.

Just a suggestion. You would need to speak to your Doctor for a consultation.

Please ask if we can help with anything. Some one will know a member of our team or a member of our community.

    Please take care.

Hi @akela6th and welcome to the Community.  It is nice to meet you and thank you for sharing with us.  So glad to have you on board and you certainly aren't moaning as we are all here to support each other so please feel free to vent anytime.  There will always be someone to chat to.  I suffer from chronic pain too at times, but for me it comes from my hip and left leg due to some nerve damage so I can understand how debilitating this can be.  You have come to the right place for support, advice and friendship and there will always be someone on here to chat to.  I have made some friends on here and I'm sure you will too.  It is a great Community and one I am sure you will enjoy being part of.  Please take a look around the site and feel free to join in any of the discussions.  If there is anything we can help/support you with then please just let us know.  All the best.   :D
