New member saying hello
Hello – I just wanted to post to introduce myself as I’m new here. I have already found this site useful and I’ve only just joined.
I’m working with The Princes Trust on an idea to create a social enterprise for people with disabilities (like me!) to find work so I would love to hear other people’s input, and to just generally use the community to meet people and feel a bit less lonely.
I called the Scope helpline asking if I could be connected with others with disabilities so that I could get their input on my idea and the gentleman I spoke to kindly suggested I ask on here. I will create a new thread to do so properly but I just wanted to say hello first and ask where would be the best place to create such a thread as I find navigation a bit difficult? (It would just be asking people what they’d find most useful in a service which connected them to either part-time task-based work or full-time employment)
Thank you and pleased to meet you ![]()

Hi @elizabethr
A very warm welcome.
Must say you have a tremendous idea and could not speak higher about The Prince Trust.
I know from experience that having disabilities, can be a major hurdle, to the world of work.
I am tagging @Richard_Scope to see if he will assist you.
Once again, welcome.1 -

Hi @elizabethr
Great to meet you and a very warm welcome!
As @Ails has already suggested, the Coffee Lounge is a really popular discussion thread. If you are undertaking more formal research it would be the Events and Research thread. Posts on that thread are reviewed by a moderator so ensure the safety of the members.
If you need anything else please just ask.

The suggestions Ails and Richard have made are really valid, so I hope you'll be able to get yourself situated, but if you need any help at all just let us know! 2 -
@atlas46 thanks so much, that means a lot! Yes I completely agree, finding a job that doesn't detrimentally affect your health can be such a struggle. I look forward to talking more on the forum, thanks again!1

Thank you @Richard_Scope , that's really helpful. I'll have a look at both to see where it would be most suitable (and completely get the need for moderation!) Thanks again
