Yesterday I had a call about my new care plan.
My word indeed!
I currently get 28 hours and 2 sleepovers.
I had previously rung Social Services in a distressed state, telling them hubby and I were struggling to cope, as my care needs increase and he weakens...We are 67 and 71...not spring chickens, but feeling like old boilers!
After several interrogations, meetings and so on, they have come up with....
23.25 hours and 3 sleeps.
Hubby has gone doolally! He needs MORE help in the day, not when he`s chuffin asleep!
Wait till Monday!
Oh I`m so tired!

Hi @pollyanna1052 - I'm so sorry to read this; can you challenge it to get appropriate care? You've been through so much recently..... I'm only pleased you got the correct PIP award. You made me smile, however saying dolally; something my mother-in -law used to say.
My son used to wonder if this was a made-up word as his grandad had his own vocabulary! I checked it up a while ago. See: https://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/161900.html for an explanation of it's origins, which surprised me!
So, does your fight re-commence tomorrow, & have you got an appointment date yet for the Walton?
-
Endless and wearing @pollyanna1052
Hope you can get it changed (increased with daily)
At least you got the good PIP result, anyhow.
Keep battling on, if you have anything left! x -
What an ordeal @pollyanna1052. Let us know how you get on today.

Hello friends!
Thankyou for your support...it means a lot.xx
So, today we told the social worker what we NEED. She has taken it on the chin and will be presenting her manager with it. She said `We need to get this resolved asap now`.
I agree..it`s in it`s 4th or 5th week now.
Been shopping and got a new nightie and bed jacket (should that be straightjacket?)
I`ll be going into The Walton centre for neurological tests (MRIs) and stuff soon.
Life sure ain`t boring!
xxxxxxx

social worker has gone on leave for a week...without letting me know the outcome........having trouble finding an agency....either too dear, full up, don't do my area or times are ridiculous..like put to bed at 10pm ad get up at 7.45am........too late and too early.
Waiting for a call from the final one.
If I cant get an agency, I`ll have to search doe a PA..another nightmare!

@pollyanna1052
For goodness sake Polly! Sending sympathy to you and hubby.
Hope you do get the right help from that final call today. x

So sorry to hear this @pollyanna1052! It must be so stressful! Please do let us know if you hear anything else.

YES! YES! YES!
I`ve got an agency starting on 30th Dec.........new care plan has been agreed by Social Services...
and I can finally breathe peacefully again!
Bestie Bev, my carer who has been with me for 8.5 years has reduced her hours a bit and is happy...she has 22 hours now plus 2 sleeps,, is dropping to 17 hours, plus 2 sleepovers and the agency has 9.5 hours.
So after DWP, Council care charges, new care plan woes...they`re all sorted......innit luverly!
Just the hospital stay and investigations to happen on 15th Dec.
But I`m not worked up over that......it`ll be a change of scenery and a break for t`old fella!

So pleased it's all been sorted Pollyanna! Glad you've got a date for the Walton too.
-
Got new care agency manager coming at 1pm.......that`s the last hurdle!

Yes, meeting went well. new agency starts 30th , with put me to beds. Washing up of tea things too. That`ll give my poor hard worked hubby some rest. Looking forward to meeting my new girls
