Thank you ☺. I'm hoping he slows down a wee bit now lol. He could grow another 2-3 inches in height then pad out.
@Chloe_Scope
Thank you ☺
Hes going to be stunning when hes fully grown. Lovely photo of him x
gwen is flora’s mum, and they were found in a box in may
Dont know how people can do that, just dump animals like that. I found a cardboard box with kittens in it once. A friend found a puppy in a litter bin in the park. He kept him, lovely dog.
Gwen & Flora have landed on their feet, they look very content.
i know! i just don’t understand, animals are so wonderful!
but we are very lucky to have our girls and i am so glad they came into our lives 😊
Sorry for the ramble! I’ll try to find some more nice ones of my pooches and of my four cats too - collecting strays is a hazard of being an RVN! - and add them later.

I thought I’d add the picture from the first day I met River because it’s super cute!
Very tiny. How old there? Very cute x
I have held a borzoi pup like that. He grew up to tower over me when he put his front paws on my shoulders!
@Franstrahan she’s just a few weeks there, her litter came in with their mum for checkups
Here are some cat pics:
Hi, would love to hear more about your cats. I'm guessing they are rescues through your veterinary practice.
Beautiful pics of beautiful cats! Think yours are the same breed as the kittisaurus ones on YouTube.
I used to occassionally look after 4 British short hairs years ago when pet-caring.
Dizzy was so named because he suffered neurological damage as a kitten when some charming kids trapped him in a vat of creosote. He was the sweetest boy in the world and lived to be 14 (we estimate).
Horrific what happened to Dizzy. I cant understand people harming small defenceless animals, or what they 'get' out of it.
Thank you for telling their stories, it's always nice to hear from the saints in the world who look after its animals. I watch a lot of the, mainly dog, rescue videos from around the world on YouTube, some of which are hard to stomach. Guess you have seen a few in real life during the course of your work.
In contrast theres some incredibly cute videos, I was telling ZED44, kittisaurus is a fun one.
Thanks again Rainbow, you're one of the saints!
Yes agree it is the minority that are cruel and unfortunately it's always the bad stuff that makes news, no matter what field of life.
I had a lot of fun (and some sad times) when I was pet caring. It is rewarding working with animals. I very much admire the vets and nurses who are on call 24 7 to take care of our pets. And the rescue centres and people like the Cinnamon Trust.
Shame we cant post little video clips on here. Wonder if it's something they could maybe set up in the future?...
That's quite a mix! Lovely photos x
Hes a cute little guy. Looks intelligent. I had a Jack Russell, rescued at 17yo and I had him 15 months, so he was 19yo or thereabouts. JRs are nice little dogs, full of character.
My friend's dog, Daisy, before she got her haircut...which I won't show because it's a bit too severe (IMO anyway)! She's awesome though and I love holding her and cuddling her!
Shes lovely! Is she a shih tzu? Looks so in the photo, but could be a lhasa apso...
My shih tzu Josh (no longer with us) was a Pets As Therapy dog. He was very cuddly, loved to be sitting on someone's lap.
Thanks for the pic of Daisy.
This is Ceefa. She's 15, a rescue who I got last year. and a very lovely kitty. When I got her, she was so scared of everything! She'd been with the same owner from about 6 weeks old and when he passed away she ended up with Cats Protection. We think she wasn't really socialised much, as a kitten or an adult and didn't really see many people. That's good for me as my flat is not exactly busy, but over the last 18 months she's gotten so much braver! She'll come and say hello to most people if they stay put rather than moving around and with me she's a sop. She hates her belly being touched, being picked up and generally losing control of a situation, which makes vets visits particularly difficult, but as long as I respect her wishes as far as possible she forgives me!
Shes landed on her feet finding you, she looks very content.
Like her previous owner, I'm on my own (totally) with pets, and I found the amazing Cinnamon Trust who will take care of pets if you need to go into hospital or, should you pass away, Cinnamon Trust will take your pets and look after them for the rest of their lives. All my pets are registered with them, no charge, I'm a member and just pay £10 a year. Peace of mind! I find a lot of people havent heard of them.
They would send in a pet visitor probably then in your case. They have volunteers in every area. For mine, I'd have a pet sitter, someone would have to move in with them. I know a volunteer round here, she does dog walking for I'll and/or elderly people mainly. But they are well worth registering Ceefa with then. You can Google Cinnamon Trust for their link. There is a thread about them here in the Coffee Lounge but you'll need to go down a few pages now to find it.
I think Pets as Therapy is a fantastic idea, and when I get myself a new place I'll certainly consider getting a cat! I wish I could get a dog but my mobility difficulties would make poop-picking untenable, sadly!
Cats do Pets As Therapy work too so maybe when you get her..... Not everybody likes dogs.
Josh was great as a PAT dog. I now have Teddy, a Tibetan terrier who loves people, especially children and babies, so hoping he will shape up and pass his test next year. His photo is near the top of this thread. Daisy's lovely, lovely colour.
He is handsome. Like a giant Tibetan terrier! (my breed).
I think one of the Tibetan breeders does breed Russian blacks too.
Lovely dog x
Very handsome boy. Bengals get quite big, dont they? Cant recall ever seeing one but I knew someone who had one once.
Thank you everyone for sharing your adorable animals and welcome to the community for those of you who have just joined us.

Yes I'm a big animal lover, love my pets. They come first, always. I have 5 dogs, a cockatiel and tropical & goldfish (pond and tank).
Did you see the Cinnamon Trust thread btw?
There is a place near me with therapy horses where you can go and just handle the horses, grooming them, leading them, feeding etc, interacting (no riding).
Good for confidence building and social interaction, also depression and anxiety.
I need to look into it more as I'm on the autism spectrum, also have depression and anxiety, so would prefer to socialise with horses than people to be honest!

Agree, dont know what I'd do without my pets, especially the dogs. I used to work as a pet carer and that was just brilliant. I'm guessing Bob is a house rabbit? Love rats. They are so intelligent. Even the wild ones here, drinking and washing their faces at my fish pond. In the summer I've seen them swim into it to nick the fish food!
@Ryley98 Love the ratkins! I had a wonderful rat named Tadpole the Warrior Princess 20 years ago while I was in uni. She was lovely, and would hang out under my (long) hair for hours, along the back of my neck. She'd also stand on her hind paws on my shoulder, holding onto my ear, when she wanted to look at something. She was such a good little companion.
She almost died multiple times:
#1: T was 1 of 3, and unbeknowst to me they were infected with a respiratory disease when I got them. I came home from class to find 1 dead and the other 2 very sick. The other one died on the way to the vet, but T held on and got antibiotics in time.
#2: T grew a benign tumour, which the vet was hesitant to remove because rats often don't survive surgery. Unfortunately, the tumour just kept on growing, and when it was about 2/3 the size of Tadpole, we had to have it removed!!
She survived the surgery no problem, and when the tumour regrew, she survived a 2nd surgery to remove it again!
#3: The "Warrior Princess" bit got added to her name after I got my first kitty, Kozmo. Koz was terrified of everything, including Tadpole, but eventually worked up the courage to approach T's cage. T was an escape artist, though, and was having none of this whole "cat in her space" thing! She wriggled between some bent bars which I hadn't noticed yet and launched herself at Kozmo. She landed on Koz's face and proceeded to cling on and scratch and bite while making the most godawful sound! Koz knocked her off before I could intervene and ran in terror! (Koz only received a couple of scratches on her nose, but for the rest of T's life, Kozmo would walk as far away from T's cage as possible when she had to pass by. 😆)
Unfortunately, Koz knocked out one of T's eyes in the process, which the vet had to remove. This didn't seem to bother Tadpole one bit. Warrior Princess!
Tadpole lived to almost 4 years old.
My other cat, Trouble (3 months older than Nemi and related in some complicated way) is very difficult to take pics of, so here's a bad one of the 2 of them:
Love your Tadpole tale. She was quite a girl! Rats unfortunately have a pretty bad public image which is such a shame as they are such intelligent creatures. Your story has reminded me of a friend I had at school who used to let her white mice walk about on her! She would put one on her shoulder and he'd go from there!
This is my biggest boy who is a 10month old bengal who weighs 16.5lbs already he is always near me especially if I’m having a bad day 😻
Then we have Ivan’s brother Boris he always sleeps by my feet 😻
This is Jasper who is always cuddled up with my hubby
And finally my little troublemaker peanut, he’s the only naughty one of them all but I love him just the same.
I've got a bit confused here, which is nothing unusual. So you have the beautiful black cat, 2 Bengals and 2 ginger Manx (with tails). If I got that right.
All gorgeous, love the markings on the Bengals.
I have 5 dogs who are always around me, sleep on the bed, couldn't be without them. Most people think I'm eccentric. I dont care what they think!
thats right I’ve got the 5 cats/kittens plus Molly a tiny chihuahua. They all sleep the bed plus my hubby of course which doesn’t leave a lot of space for us humans especially as the black cat and the bengals are huge ( and the bengals are still growing) plus the other 2 are only 6 months old so will be taking up more space as they grow. If it was up to me I would get more cats ( I must be a crazy cat lady lol ) but my hubby has said no more but we will see lol but as he’s on litter duty I guess I will have to try and be good. I don’t think your eccentric to have your dogs sleeping with you, why not and I’m like you who cares what other people think. Our furry friends give us so much love and support they deserve to sleep in comfort with us ♥️♥️♥️
I used to have 8 dogs and when I worked as a pet carer I used to home board so have had 10 at a time here with me in the past. So I must be the crazy dog lady! (I am known in the village as the dog lady.)
Did you see the Cinnamon Trust thread on here? Know theres 2 of you, but worth checking them out all the same.
That is amazing! I know you can get specially trained dogs that can warn you before you have a seizure, but never heard of that before.
Thanks for the tip about the cinnamon trust I will definitely check it out. My hubby isn’t in the best of health either as he has RA and had a heart attack a while ago too. Wow 10 dogs is a lot to handle.
@dare2shine
that is amazing about your cat, when my eldest daughter was born we got a kitten. Cara was born with Edwards Syndrome and had epilepsy, this little kitten used to sit beside her just before she had a seizure, we were told it was extremely rare that cats 🐈 picked up on it like dogs do. Sadly we lost spit 3 weeks ago. She was 23 so she had a good life and passed in hr sleep 🐈🌈😢
hi your lucky that junior is a good kitty as bengals are known to be very vocal and naughty lol. My 2 are really chilled Ivan may look huge but he’s a big softy and doesn’t even meow, he gets the me...bit but not the .. ow lol and Boris is just a big baby who suckles on his bed lol
Glad you enjoyed my Tadpole tale (tail? Hee). Yes, rats are very smart, and very clean. I wish more people knew that.
Still loving the markings on those Bengals. Almost like servals.
No he certainly doesnt look his age! Lovely green eyes on an orange background x
In my pet carer days the oldest cat I looked after was allegedly 27 and still going strong. Used to be a factory mouser and one of the ladies took him home when the factory shut down.
Bilbo is gorgeous and looks very good for his age. I love ginger cats and have 2 ginger Manx kittens they are about 6 months old now and a bit like toddlers into every thing lol . They are called Jasper and peanut
@brujah81
Thankyou I love the spotted belly’s too. Bengals love too be up high and look down on things so yours will probably always get up on your counters and stuff. We have a high walkway around our bedroom that ours like to lie on and watch us. I would love to get another one especially a silver spotted one but this breed of cat is so expensive my dream would be to have an early generation Savannah ( or 2 lol ) but there’s no way I could afford one ☹️ but I can dream lol
