WHAT WOULD YOU DO?? IF YOU FOUND OUT YOUR PIP AWARD WAS MADE BY DWP BEFORE YOUR ACTUAL ASSESSMENT??

Has this happened? seems unlikely as your applications goes to the HCP's before it goes to the DWP??Be extra nice to new members.

I would guess that it was a decision based on a paper assessment and I’d be pleased to have gotten an award with so little stress.

SORRY MY REPLIES ARE LATE!! IT WASNT A PAPER ASSESSMENT MIKE IT WAS A FACE TO FACE ASSESSMENT.

Hi @lisak20, what makes you believe that the decision was made before? I hope we can get things sorted.

The outcome wasnt good ive asked for it too be looked at again, pip informed my legacy benefit that there was a change in my circumstances that was a week before my assessment my legacy benefit sent me a letter informing me of this but I put it away without opening it till about 6 weeks later that's when I noticed what had happened I havent informed pip of this as I think I shouldn't of received the letter when I did .

I think there's some real confusion here. The date that PIP notified legacy benefits that there was a change in circs. are you sure that's the change of circs. they were referring to? How do you know?
Let's say for a moment that it was.
DWP IT will show a notification of a change of circs. (a PIP decision).
DWP IT will also show the date of your paper assessment.
DWP IT will also show the date of your PIP decision.
Do you have all 3 dates and, if so, what are they?

Hi Mike, hope you dont mind me asking but, Do you work for the DWP by any chance?

No, absolutely not. I'm very much on the other side of the fence ideologically.

SORRY MY RESPONSE IS LATE AS I SAID IN MY PREVIOUS POST I HAD A F2F ASSESSMENT NOT!!! A PAPER 0NE.. I RECEIVED A LETTER A WEEK PRIOR TO F2F ASSESSMENT OFF MY LEGACY BENEFIT TELLING ME THAT DUE TOO A CHANGE IN MY CIRCUMSTANCES MY PAYMENTS WOULD BE CHANGING THE LETTER NEVER SAID WHY THIS WAS, I HAD FORGOTTEN TOO OPEN THIS LETTER TILL ABOUT 6 WEEKS LATER I PHONED MY LEGACY BENEFIT ASKING WHY MY PAYMENTS HAD CHANGED I NEVER MENTIONED THE LETTER TOO THEM, THEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE I WAS NO LONGER RECEIVING ENHANCED CARE OF PIP SO THE PREMIUM HAD BEEN STOPPED THAT WAS THE CHANGE IN CIRCUMSTANCES THE LETTER I HAD RECEIVED A WEEK PRIOR TO F2F ASSESSMENT WAS OBVIOUSLY ABOUT

No need to apologies. Thanks for that (although maybe turn the CAPS LOCK off
).
Have you obtained a copy of the HCP report? If so, does it actually make a recommendation which would have resulted in the removal of enhanced rate?
What I’m getting at here is that there’s a danger of letting 2 and 2 make 22 and maybe not realising that even if they make 4 it doesn’t matter. What I mean by this is as follows:
My suspicion is that your case was previewed and decided on the papers and someone then forgot to cancel the face to face. However, the reality is that even if something odd did happen - so what? I don’t mean that harshly. I just mean that either way the end result is a decision you have to challenge. You’ve already done that. So, the answer to “what would you do?” is... nothing. You've done it already. You’ve started an MR. That won’t turn on the specific timing of who did what and when. It will turn on which points you’re entitled to; what the sporting evidence is and so on.
