Who knew Parma Violets had an awareness day?!
We might have missed the chance to dress up in purple, but what sweet do you believe needs an awareness day? When I was younger, going to the sweet shop with my granddad is a fond memory.
Some of my favourites:
Friday 26th June is now officially National Parma Violets Day, a chance for the most dedicated fans to rejoice in all things to do with the sweet. We'd love to see how you get involved! Wear something purple, bake a purple cake or even go all out and throw a purple party!

Fruit pastilles
minstrels
Fruit polos
(when I was a child little girls would lick a Parma violet and then wipe them on their necks as perfume! True! At the time I didn’t bat an eye!)

Happy National Purple Day too!
I love aniseed balls. And flying saucers. How about a old fashioned sweets awareness day? I believe that crystallised fruits were popular back in the day as well.1 -
I love fruit pastilles as well @leeCal! Although, the green ones are the best.

Used to always go to the local shop with my pocket money every week when I was a child to get a mix up.
Also used to love millions, lemon and strawberry sherbets and cola bottles.
These days, I don't mind a packet of Haribo here and there, and I absolutely love blackcurrant liquorice0 -
If you do Cosplays or Fan Films, I'm sure I've seen Batgirl as being in purple on a Fan Film or two. To continue my thread on calendars. We knew a friend who had a calendar with all these kinda days on. I must get such a calendar if I see one as my diary gets too full up with them otherwise. WH Smith diarys at least has sections at the front for UK Charity Events/Awareness Days and for International Awareness Days, so that takes care of some of that.
As for sweets, the ultimate sweet is the different flavors of Jelly Beans. Its day is on April 22nd.0 -
Anything sour really is up my street.
I love Chewits Extreme Sours, or Toxic Waste, or those rainbow belt things. The more sour the better, although none of them are quite as sour as they should be!2 -
I love parma violets!
My favourite sweet is probably candy kittens1 -
Definitely agree with a few people - cant go wrong with Minstrels!0
-
Pineapple rock, popping candy, lemon and cola sherbet pips, - oh for the good old days ?0
-
Any sweet that tastes of sour apples, mmmm those are the best0
-
Really in a sweet mood now! Although, I do prefer chocolate...

@JaneCambs Following on with what I said about Jelly Beans, I thought I'd check stuff out: https://news.jellybelly.com/?q=Sour+Apple&sortBy= & https://news.jellybelly.com/brand-fact-sheet-jelly-belly-jelly-beans/ Having a great Trade Deal with The States, not looking a bad idea now!!
