Hi @ballkeeper - I couldn't find a definitive answer online either. However, as well as the link provided above, I did find a mobility shop selling a trailer online. Hi @ballkeeper - Just to say the link you have given is to the number of trailers (plural) that can be towed in regulations dated 1986 + a 1987 & a 1989 amendment.

Unfortunately I still haven't been able to find any appropriate guidance. Whilst appreciating you have a trailer, there's another mobility shop advertising a trailer which seems to intimate you can use this with a road legal class 3 mobility scooter. Tel: 0808 102 2218. Regulation 83 of the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986 concerns the towing of trailers by a wheeled vehicle - please see below:

 

 

 

As you can see from the above, item 2 of the table concerns ‘invalid carriages’ and no exceptions are listed. Therefore, invalid carriages can’t tow trailers.

Hi @ballkeeper, just to let you know that I have edited the email you shared with us as it contained personal information. It does seem odd that they sell trailers but are unable to clearly say if they are allowed. I assume they wouldn't be allowed on public transport.

shops can sell them ,but we cant use them on the road, 

however if i could use  bicycle i could tow a trailer with a pet or child in there
