Year-long wait for payment

BenArdistoBenArdisto Member Posts: 1 Listener
My relative received a PIP award letter twelve months ago (January 2020) and says she has not yet received any payments. Is this possible? Is this common? What can be done?

Depends on their circumstances. There are situations where you get entitlement but no payment. You can also get a decision letter which awards you points but insufficient points to get entitlement and payment. Some people don't understand that. Certainly worth understanding the contents of the letter first and then making contact if there does appear to be an issue.

However, after 12 months the right to the payment is extinguished even if payment was supposed to be made. So, needs to move quickly now.
