I’ve been awarded lcwra. Can I get extra benefits? Are they backdated? Do I still provide fit notes?

I’ve just been awarded lcwra does this mean I am entitled to extra benefits? Will they be backdated? And will I still have to provide fit notes? Is it worth just calling uc and asking them about it?

The notice telling you you have LCWRA should confirm that you no longer have to provide Fit Notes.

You will be entitled to extra money (the LCWRA element worth £343.63) but it is only payable from the fourth full month after you reported your health condition supported by Fit Notes so whether you are due any arrears depends on when you reported your health condition.

    Hi there

Congratulations,  yes you will get the lcwra payment which is £343.63 a month

It should be paid from 4 months after you reported the medical condition

You won't need to provide any more fit notes

That isn't normal if it was the first time you had reported a medical condition. Did you previously have LCW?

That's very odd. You should only get the LCWRA element paid from the fourth assessment period after reporting a medical condition.
