Hi, I’m new here.
I sent in my application for pips in January of this year and haven’t even had an indication of an assessment yet, is this normal?! It’s been nearly 6months

They do have a backlog due to covid so probably normal! Did you get some kind of notification when they received your claim/form? I mean do you know if they have it there at least?0

I know they’ve got it yeah. I did assume it was due to covid but I know a few others that sent theirs in around the same time as me and have already started receiving their payments.Think I’ll give them a call. Had to leave work end of last year due to my disability worsening so could really do with the extra help!1

Oh OK well that's one good thing then at least they actually have it there! Be a nightmare if it got lost! Well a bigger nightmare than it already is lol!
I guess different people are probably having theirs looked at by different case workers and some claims will be simpler than others? My original decision came in 5 days and others have taken several months? So all this is a guessing game unfortunately :-( they just tell you to wait and its being looked at? :-( they don't appear to have a way to make any of it faster for any circumstances :-( I have missed 4 important hospital appointments since my pip was stopped and I have another one Monday that again it looks like I won't be able to get to! It's all so depressing!
But you are at least in the system and will get decision soon hopefully! Take care and stay safe! :-)0 -
Hi sachalou, I made my claim on 18th January, they sent forms out and I sent them back along with 30 page report which was conducted at my home address, and they received it back and sent it to an ap on 4th February and still haven't heard anything either, my report was done by an ex pip/dla assessor hopefully hear something soon. I'm supprised they haven't made a decision based on that report which was conducted at my home instead of sending it to an ap unless that's normal process.0

Hi xjamesx,
it’s frustrating isn’t it. Even just a status update would be nice so we know which stage in the process the claims are.I’m going to phone them today and hopefully find something out. Need to inform of new medications I’ve been put on along the already long list!Hope you get some answers soon0 -

Hi Sacha, yes definitely and progress update would be better, or a timescale at least they expect to be before looking rather then left in the dark, hopfully we both hear something soon. Based on the report from the ex dla/pip assessor, I should qualify for both enchanted rates but I'm quite optimistic about it all and there judgement when making a decision but we shall see what happens will keep updated if I hear anything from them:)0
