HI. Hope you’re all well. I hope you could help me find out some more information. It’s been advised by my doctor that I try to find independent housing and rent a place on my own and move out of my family home. I am on Enhanced Daily Living PIP, standard mobility PIP and Support Group ESA. I don’t plan on getting housing benefit as I don’t want to move to Universal Credit yet and I want to keep my ESA. When I find somewhere and eventually move out should I get the extra Disability Premium for living on my own and how do i get it? Also due to it being a change in circumstances could I loose my PIP or get a new review for moving on my own? My needs haven’t changed and I’ll still be getting help from my family everyday, I’ll just be living on my own. Thanks

Hi and welcome to the community
Your PIP won't be affected all you need to do is report your change of address it doesn't matter that you would be living on your own
You should be eligible for sdp as long as nobody claims carers allowance for caring for you
Just call dwp when the time comes to apply
Good luck finding a suitable property0 -
So does that mean she can claim sdp now if no one claims carers allowance for her or does she have to wait till she moves out0

Perhaps this link from Shelter might help in looking for accommodation @mattluke - please see: https://england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice/private_renting/how_to_find_landlords_who_accept_benefits

Thank you all for your response. I’m hopeful that everything will work out okay when I rent my first properly and I get the SDP okay.0
