care allowance

i put in for carers allowance for my father as he has to look after me due to my disabilities he has to do everything for me from washing to tieing my laces they said because his state pension higher than carers allowance he cant get it i dont see why he should pay out of his own pension to look after me some help on this decision pls

HI,If your father's state pension is more than £67.60 per week then he won't be able to paid the carers allowance because it's classed as overlapping benefits.Although he could still claim it and have an underlying entitlement to it, which could increase entitlement to other benefits such as pension credit.
