Can I be told to move out for having mobility scooter in my flat, which I was told to do?

I live in a privately rented flat within a council block. I have lived here for about 14 years. I was told to move my large scooter from outside my front door to the scooter park under the building. I also have a small one which I use to get up the ramp now the large scooter is being kept downstairs. The council were the ones to tell me to move the small scooter into my flat which I have been doing. Now they want to know the tenants who have scooters within the flats as it maybe considered unsafe. They wont say why they want the information but my question is can they tell me to move out ? I dont want to move, I feel safe up here on my 8th floor perch, I can have windows open all night without fear of someone climbing in let alone the fantastic view.

@amethyst1957 hi and welcome to scope, I would assume it's just a safety measure, don't assume they will want you to move out.Seasons greetings to one and all 🎄🎅🏻🌲

I wouldnt but its what they have been trying to for years now. Its supposed to be a block for people over 55 but the average age is 75.

No, they can't just "tell you to move out" they would have to go through an eviction process first. Completely agree about the saftey issue though.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
