Hi i was awarded the lower amount for both daily living and mobility for copd on the 17/08/21 I've just had my medical transcript back, since applying I've been put on tablets for depression and referred to a social prescrber, if this does get me the higher pip amount will it be back dated, thanx Bill.

    The decision is based on your condition at the time of your assessment. Remember too that a change of medication and/or treatment is not necessarily relevant as PIP is about how your health affects you, not about diagnosis.

    @scoobs, I have to agree with @ calcotti,  the assessment report is about the information submitted at the time of your application. Any changes in your abilities or medications will have no chance of changing the PIP assessment outcome.  Remember PIP I’d about your inabilities to preform, cope and manage the descriptors safely, repeatedly and in a timely manner.

    Notwithstanding my comment above, if the new medication and referral are relevant to the problems you have already described to DWP you can certainly inform them but be clear that this is additional information not a change of circumstances (unless you want to be reassessed because the impact your health has on you has changed).
