Hello @QueenAstra
Welcome to the community, and thanks for introducing yourself and your family.
How are they getting on with managing their conditions?
Is there anything in particular that you are needing support with?0 -
Hi @QueenAstra
Welcome to Scope's forum. It is great to see you have joined us. How are you today?
Is there anything, in particular, you would like our support with?
In the meantime, I think we are a supportive and friendly group and I hope you will find the same! To start with, you may appreciate our discussion sections dedicated to discussing mental health and wellbeing, autism and neurodiversity, chronic pain and pain management and rare, invisible and undiagnosed conditions. If you are interested, you can find them at https://forum.scope.org.uk/categories/mental-health-issues, https://forum.scope.org.uk/categories/learning-disabilities-and-autism, https://forum.scope.org.uk/categories/chronicpain and https://forum.scope.org.uk/categories/undiagnosed_rare_conditions. You may also benefit from the children, parents, and families discussion section which you can find at https://forum.scope.org.uk/categories/carers-of-disabled-children-and-adults.
I hope you find these links useful but please don't hesitate to reach out to us again0 -
Thank you so much for your warm welcome.
I am looking for support mostly regarding my son Theo. As we have issues around DLA and EHCP. We have been refused both twice now.
School are stuggling with him behaviour and attention wise.
I am currently waiting for a date for the tribunal regarding the DLA. I am stuggling with getting extra evidence to support my claim for him.0 -
Hi @QueenAstra,
Thanks for your response. I am really sorry to hear that you are experiencing a difficult time with the DLA and EHCP systems. Is this something you feel you could discuss with Theo's SENCO and GP/healthcare practitioner? They may be able to support you with gathering evidence for this. In the meantime, you can find the eligibility for DLA at https://www.gov.uk/disability-living-allowance-children/eligibility and the eligibility for EHCP's at https://www.ipsea.org.uk/pages/category/education-health-and-care-plans. We are here for you, we will listen to you and we know you seem determined to get the best outcome possible for your son which is great to see0
