I am receiving IIDB for asbestosis. I was assessed at 10% disabled, no idea why only 10% but went along with it. I was also sent a lump sum of £10k, I have no idea what that was for. Now two years later I have been Re-Assessed and am classed as 60% disabled. Will I be receiving another £50k and have you any idea what the lump sums are for.
Cheers Stu.

Hi,Usually you don't receive anything if you're assessed as being 10%. Can't answer the question about the lump sum of £10,000, if it was me then i would have asked what that money was for. See link. For the 60% you will receive a weekly amount which will be about £109 per week. There's a table here with the percentages. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/industrial-injuries-disablement-benefits-technical-guidance/industrial-injuries-disablement-benefits-technical-guidanceIf you are receiving means tested benefits they will be affected by the IIDB payments.
