I have spinal stenosis in my lower back. It has recently become painful.inmy hips worse on the right. I have recently developed urinary problems that I have read may be related to pressure in the nerves from the stenosis. Erectile issues have developed also.

Welcome to the community @toby1967
I'm also sorry to hear about the problems you've been experiencing alongside your spinal stenosis. I'd echo Janer1967's question around whether you've discussed these developments with your GP- is that something you feel comfortable doing?

Hi @toby1967, I have a spinal stenosis along with other issues.
I'm double incontinent so self catheterise and also have ED. When the problems first started I felt so embarrassed and a bit ashamed if i'm honest, being mid-30's i'm meant to be in my prime.
Due to the conditions I have I must have to tell a different doctor or nurse my conditions on a weekly basis, they just hear it as if I said I had ear ache or something, this is just perfectly normal to them and something they deal with on a daily basis.
Definitely visit your GP, they are your gateway into other services. They may be able to refer you to a continence clinic or Urologist, the help i've had off both teams has been brilliant.
In terms of the ED the GP was amazing, they asked how it made me feel and explored if there were any other medical issues that could have caused it and then prescribed meds to help.
People often over look their GP but they really are the gateway for treatment and have probably seen more bits and bobs then they care to remember.
Best of luck,
Daniel0
