edited January 2022 in Start here and say hello!
Good morning,
I am an amputee  in a wheelchair with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder.. last time I was released from a section I was offered support in the community 10 hours a week! Lovely!!

Only travel is most of the time I'm it puts me in more of a bad mood to have it it than not. The staff themselves are great... But the company running the business SJ takes on more clients without the staff to support them...

So I had a a visit planned today, it was cancelled, I was offered phone support which doesn't help me with any physical issues, like getting food!! And it's the the third time this week already! Weekend they have no cover for me yet.

Nightmare!

Hi and welcome to the community

I am also an amputee so can understand your needs

Can you make a complaint or speak to the manager and explain the situation if you haven't already

Maybe look into alternative care providers

Hello @marcus1664 and welcome to the community.

Thanks for reaching out today, I'm so sorry to hear about the shortage of staff at your care provider. As janer1967 has suggested, I think it would be a good idea to call and explain everything to them if you haven't already.

Is there a loved one or someone you trust close by, who could help assist you with things this weekend?

Hi @marcus1664 :) Have you been able to get any food and essential items in this weekend?
