Remaining politically neutral during General Election 2024


Under guidance from the Electoral Commission and Charity Commission, it's important that Scope remains politically neutral during General Elections.

While we understand that this period will see many passionate discussions and do not want to discourage open discussion, we cannot allow discussions which are purely intended to influence voting.

There are special deals for people on Universal Credit.  If you have home  Telephone line and Broadband, please contact your providers.

    BT basics is one of them. It’s available to those claiming other means tested benefits too, such Income Related ESA/JSA and Income Support. Information in link https://www.gocompare.com/broadband/benefits/
    I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.

    I only found out yesterday.  I believe it is dishonest and mischievous of the DWP and service providers not to advertise this.
    Never allow DWP assertions to define you. They never have evidence of your true circumstances.

    DWP wouldn't advertise it because it's nothing to do with them. Bt have it advertised on their website here. https://www.bt.com/exp/broadband/home-essentials

    If that’s the case they should tell everyone everything else they could be entitled to if in receipt of a benefit and that’s not the DWPs responsibility, so you can’t blame them.

    Yes, I understand the disdain DWP have towards the claimants. They prefer if we don't exist.
