I have rang today pip and still nothing I've asked universal credit for support with bus fares to my physio appointment twice a week ,and there's nothing I've been told ,,I rang pip last week and said forget the claim it's not worth the stress and they advised me to not ,, reading up it' says they rarely overturn mandatory reconsiderations ,,the whole process is so degrading I had an over the phone assessment with a complete stranger it could of been Micky mouse for Al I know ,,the ins and outs of a cat's behind ,,it's so inhuman ,,I give up honestly I have no direction in the benefits system or support where do I start

My son at uni I live alone I've had the mental health team before but they said I'm stressed it's because of DWP ,,it's the stress of all of this it's enough to tip anyone over the edge ,,I just want to get better and go back to work I needed pip for support they don't get it ,,there not compassionate at all it's not my fault all of this I have a shadow on my marrow bone that's causing my foot problems and the fybromyalgia is making it worse ,,lack of sleep through flare ups is causing the sezuires it's a never ending cycle,,my only hope of getting better is my physio rehabilitation ,,but because I lost my job I can't afford the travel fare it's at least 3 miles away from my home, my overall problem is I can't have medication I have massive reactions to medication that's why the doctor reffered me to physio as a last ditch attempt to get me better it's with Nuffield health and there fantastic,,if I miss my appointment they will disgared me

    Hi and welcome

Unfortunately it is a slow process pip isn't about support while you are off work but about how your condition affects your daily living against the descriptors

Do you claim other benefits like new style esa or uc if so have you reported your health condition

If you don't claim other benefits then look at doing a benefits calculator on gov website to see what you may be entitled to

Regarding hand rails you can self refer for care needs assessment on gov website and a ot will come and do an assessment and recommend any aids or adaptions to help you

    Hi,
MR success rate is less than 20% but we have had some members that have had the decision in their favour after MR. It can take anything from 2-12 weeks for the decision at this stage so if you requested the MR 4 weeks ago, you haven't really be waiting that long. If the MR decision doesn't change then you can appeal at Tribunal.
Please remember that PIP isn't about your ability to work. People claim PIP and work.
For your UC have you reported your health condition onto your journal? You also need to send in fit notes from your GP and this will start the work capability assessment process off.  There's some information here. https://www.gov.uk/health-conditions-disability-universal-credit
Unfortunately, UC won't pay your travel costs for your medical appointments.
You can refer yourself for a needs assessment from your local Authority https://www.gov.uk/health-conditions-disability-universal-credit There maybe a waiting list for this but an Occupational Therapist will visit you at home and do an assessment of your needs. From this they will determine whether there's any help available to you.

Hello @dollydog73 How are you feeling today? I'm glad you've been able to use the forum to reach out for support, and I hope you feel welcomed and reassured. I'm sorry to hear about how anxious you've been feeling lately with your PIP.

I notice you've mentioned the support you're getting from Nuffield Health has been fantastic, that's really positive to hear. And I can see our members have been really supportive in welcoming you to the community. If you'd like us to offer you some extra support for you, with a needs assessment referral, we can sort that out- just let us know if that's something you'd like to pursue.

Do you feel like you're getting enough support with your mental health right now? We are here to listen and advise you if you have any questions, and you can also contact the Scope Helpline (if you haven't already) for support over the phone.

Keep us updated with how things go, and don't hesitate to reach out again if you need to :)

    Alex

Hi everyone sorry been attending my physio appointmens 2times a week ,,my aim is to get better and get back into work ,,I've still not heard back from my mandatory reconsideration it's been going on for weeks I feel like I'm physically being forced back to work as I have no money left for bus fares to physio I've explained this to pip and to universal credit who are all oblivious to my situation,,I've asked for my leadership universal credit to be paid fortnightly but have agreed this would leave me in arrears and not much to live oneach fortnighti can't have a budgeting loan off universal credit because I've already had one to get a new bed with ,,I wouldn't of asked for pip if I thought I didn't need it ,,it's for financial support to help me get better and hopefully I can go back to work ,I'm not after it because I don't ever want to work because I do ,,it's hard trying to stay positive and focus on the future without financial support,,but if I don't attend my appointments I'm not going to get better  but it means I'm starving now to pay 16 50 bus ticket every week I'm nearly 70 pounds down a month now as well as lost the uplift 80 pounds it's so hard it really is ,

Just can't see that light at the end of the tunnel yet ,,I'm so focused on trying to get better but the stress of pip is making me worse they know I need financial support I feel like there dangling a carrot in front of me ,how can these people make a decision on my life ,,there supposed to be supporing me ,,they want you to get better and go back according to there statements  to work so why aren't they helping
