TELEPHONE CALL CONCERNING REVIEW FORM. Will they tell me the date or will they call out of the blue?

I am expecting a telephone call from the DWP concerning a PIP review form I returned about 12 weeks ago. Will the DWP write to inform me of the time and date of the telephone call, or will they call out of the blue? Does anyone know about the procedure? It would be unfortunate if I missed the telephone call and then told my money had been stopped as a result.

Hi and welcome to the community

You will be notified of your assessment in advance there are huge backlogs currently with people waiting over 6 months

It will be the assessment provider that does the call not dwp . Once the assessment report is sent to dwp the decision maker will decide any award to be made the decision can take 2 to 12 weeks

Just to let you know janer, I was awarded  ongoing PIP for both components.    No one 'phoned me after all.   Thank you for your reply though.

That's great news you will have had a paper based assessment which are rare but do happen

My last review was paper based

Thanks for letting us know nice to hear a good news story

Thank you janer.  Pleased to hear yours turned out good too.  I waited for over six months to receive the brown envelope and it did my nerves no good through waiting.

Thank you too Teddybear for your kind words.   Some years ago I was turned down for DLA in spite of the evidence that I could not, and still cannot, walk across a room without crutches.   I appealed and won the case.   Anybody who is turned down and who deserves the award must appeal.
