Will working as a part-time freelancer affect UC benefits? The work can change from week to week but the rules concerning UC are not drawn in stone.

Unless you have the work allowance, which means a certain amount of earnings are disregarded then any earnings you receive during your assessment period will reduce your UC by 55%.
If you're responsible for a child or you've been found to have either LCW or LCWRA then you'll be entitled to the work allowance. See link for details. https://www.gov.uk/universal-credit/how-your-earnings-affect-your-payments

I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
