I’m probably embarrassing myself with this being my first post but that does seem the best way to introduce myself!!
Does anyone else feel like everyone got a handbook to life and you were absent that day?
I have stupid questions about stuff everyone else seems to just know and I don’t understand how.
For example:
My toilet has two buttons on the top, why?! They both seem to do exact same thing.
Google has led me to believe one is a smaller flush or ‘water saving’ but which is which?

And what happens when you push them both together?
And do all toilets have them the same way round?
and how are you meant to know? Ive never seen a toilet come with an instruction manual!

Hi and welcome to the community
Most modern toilets have the 2 buttons I dint know which is which
Try pressing one then the other as you can tell which is a long flush and which is short
I use short for number 1s and long for nu.ber 2s lol
I do press them together that is a long flush0 -
Glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t know which is which @janer1967 lol
I miss when mine was just a handle, thank you for the welcome @Sandy_1230 -
Definitely not embarrassing @Remote. Welcome to Scope’s forum. It is great to see you have joined us. Thanks for sharing some of the most puzzling life questions that many of us think about! No question is stupid and not too small or too big. In all honesty, though, I’m not sure about the answers to your questions and would need to do some investigating (experimentation!)

Great first post ha ha thanks for posting this, that’s brilliant.
We have two buttons on our toilet but the plumber couldn’t set them up to do different functions so they both do exactly the same thing!0 -

Hello and welcome @Remote I can definitely relate to not being around when everyone got a handbook to life too!
Hope you enjoy chatting here on the forum, let us know if you have any other questions

Most people make it all up as they go along, it’s an illusion that everyone else seems to know what they’re doing in life. I’m retired and I still don’t know my ar..from my elbow! 🤣
