Hi everyone
Need advice regarding carers allowance
My neibour as asked me for advice today which I couldn't answer so I thought this would be the best place to come
She is carer for 2 of her children
But only receives carers allowance
For one of them
But the child she cares for is now is 16 and wanting to move in with her auntie
Who will probably then claim the carers allowance
When she rings carers allowance to say she is no longer caring for her eldest
And makes a new claim for carers allowance for her other child who gets high rate care and has done for 8 months
What date would she put would she put from the start date of dla awarded to her other child or from the date she ends her current claim
Thank you

She cannot receive two lots of carer's allowance at the same time so the new claim can only start from the day after the existing claim ends.0
