For the Severe Disability Premium, once you've applied for it, it can take a few weeks. The disability premium of £36.20 per week, is automatically added to your Income Support.Any money that's owed will be paid separately to your usual money.0

You're entitled to both. The disability premium is automatically added to your Income Support, as advised. The SDP you need to claim this because (if you haven't already) it's not automatically paid. To claim it, you just need to ring ESA and ask to fill out the IS10 form.I note from another thread that you haven't long been awarded PIP so your Income Support payment should soon include the extra £36.20 per week for the disability premium. If the non dependent that lives with you claims Income Related ESA and their PIP includes daily living, providing no one claims carers allowance or carers element of Universal Credit for looking after them then they will also be entitled to SDP.1
