Hi. Just wondering if anyone here has been through a Nephrectomy? I was diagnosed with a large Kidney Stone in a failing kidney right at the start of COVID. I have been in constant pain since, and, frankly, off my face on painkillers ever since. I have just heard that I am top of the waiting list now, and wondering when the after effects are going to be. I have Spina Bifida.

I hope the nephrectomy goes well @Siwheels73, and that it helps to reduce your pain!
I haven't had a nephrectomy myself, but I found a page on the Royal College of Surgeons' website about recovering from a nephrectomy, which you might like to read
How are you feeling about the surgery? -
@Tori_Scope, thank you. I have had soo many surgeries in my life already - over 100, I had really hoped to avoid another, and this seems like it is going to be a pretty large one. I am hoping things go well, as I have caring responsibilities for my wife, too, and I am unsure how I will be after the op.

Do you have any family, friends, or neighbours who could help out after the surgery if needed @Siwheels73? It may also be worth mentioning the caring responsibilities you have to your wife to the hospital, too, in case they can offer some support.

Is there a way of Private messaging you, @Tori_Scope? I'd rather not go into too much personal detail in an open forum.

Thanks @janer1967. I have helped run Forums, etc before but they are all slightly different. Loving this one, though.
