Hey! I'm a disabled blogger/journo and do comms work for a disability-related nonprofit over here in the US. In other life, I love my two dogs, I spin poi, I collect records. I'm so psyched to see that this forum exists, I've been trying to find more community around this subject and this looks like exactly what I've been searching for. Similarly, I started a blog recently because I couldn't find the type of blog I wanted to read. So I'm always looking for new story / post ideas. (Check it out!) So what should I be writing about? Looking forward to helping and being helped by y'all, and hope your week is off to a great start!

Hello @chronic_and_iconic
Wishing you a warm welcome to the community, it's lovely to see you join us and I hope you are well.
Thanks for telling us so much about yourself, it's great to learn more about you and I'm sure you'll fit right in here. What are your dogs called?
This is a very supportive and welcoming site to be a part of so I’m sure you’ll find it to be a positive outlet, feel free to have a look around and get involved wherever you’d like 😊 A few notable pages I’d recommend visiting would be:
- The virtual coffee lounge which is one of our categories, in which we play games and talk about general subjects such as hobbies and interests
- The recent discussions page, which shows an overview of everything happening across the community
- The categories page, which shows a full list of discussion groups on the community
If you have any questions at all then don’t hesitate to ask.

Thank you so much for the welcome! I'm excited to see all the fun stuff you've got going on here. My dogs are named Kismet and Arrow, they're the best scruffy terrier mutts out there0

Hello and welcome from me too @chronic_and_iconic, I'm loving the username
Kismet sounds like an Egyptian name, is that right?0 -
Thank you!!! And yeah, the word originated in Arabic, though idk if specifically Egyptian or not, but it means "destiny/fate" or "the will of Allah." She was a rescue dog and while I was trying to figure out what to name her, I heard the word "kismet" four times in the space of like two days. So i took it as kismet0

That's really cool, thanks for explaining
Rescue pets are always great as well, I had a few rescue cats growing up.0 -
