Hi first time posting, I had my phone assessment for pip last Wednesday, recieved text to say they had my written report Thursday, so I rang to request a copy on Friday. It's driving me mad!!! 2 hours I was on the phone for assessment got myself in a right state the assessor seemed lovely but I still have my guard up I'm googling alsorts and reliving assessment with different outcomes in my head every time

When you receive the report please remember that it's not the decision. It's a recommendation. The only person that can make a decision is a decision maker from DWP. Before making the decision they will look at everything you sent and the report. It's never a good idea to sit there googling like this because it will just increase your stress levels because you'll mostly only every read the bad stories. Lots of people claim PIP successfully first time without any problems at all.Waiting times for a decision is anything up to 12 weeks.1

This is actually my 2nd time I was declined last time report was full of lies and I just didn't have the fight in me to pursue its taken over 2 years to build up the courage to apply again0 -
Welcome to the community @zoey86
I'm glad to hear that the assessor was kind. Fingers crossed you'll get the outcome you're hoping for this time! Please do keep us updated.0 -
Morning @zoey86 welcome to our great group.
I found the waiting for the results was the worst time.
Try and keep your mind busy and don't keep looking into things
You could come and join us in the virtual coffee lounge, that might help keep your mind of it.0 -
Thank you everyone 😊 I'm trying not to read to much into it, hopefully the report turns up soon and I can get some sort of indication the wait is awful0

****UPDATE****
recieved report today looks like I got 10 points on care and 12 on mobility according to assessor a few things I don't agree with and a few contradictions but I'm scared to contest will see what dwp say0 -
I hope your decision letter doesn't take too long to come through @zoey86!
If you do decide to challenge the decision further along the line, we'll be here to support you0 -
@Tori_Scope thank you 😊 just a bit half overwhelmed half confused but don't want to rock the boat I'll see what happens when I get the decision x0

No news yet apart from a text this morning saying they still haven't made a decision is this normal?1 -
Yes, they have started sending out more texts with updates, so it's perfectly normal.

@poppy123456 thank you hopefully won't be too much longer I've started to make up a Mr just in case it's the waiting I got all flustered when I seen dwp text this morning the report reads good a few dubious bits but award suggested is a lot better than previous rejection I just still iffy knowing the report isn't always adhered to0
-
I'm glad they are communicating things more regularly, even if the news is that things are still being decided @zoey86 I hope it helps you feel reassured that you haven't been forgotten or anything.
I know months without hearing anything can be very unsettling, and it can be easy to jump to conclusions.
Let us know when you have the decision, and we'll be here for you whatever the outcome0 -
@Alex_Scope I will do thank you 😊 hopefully not much longer it's driving me mad specially now I've seen the report0
-
I remember waiting for mine and getting quite frustrated, but sometimes the best thing to do is just focus on other things for a while, especially things we enjoy or which help us relax.
You're welcome to spend time on the community of course, a good place is the Coffee Lounge if you've not visited already, you can play games and chat with other members0 -
@Alex_Scope thank you I may head over to the lounge later on try stop my mind from whirling2
