Help with moving house?

Is there help available with moving house?
Something like a charity organization that can help with both the manpower and the vehicle to move my things from storage to my new flat?
I am unable to lift heavy items let alone carry them upstairs.
I live in Swansea and claim both U.C. and P.I.P.
I would be grateful for any advice or pointers.
Cheers everyone

Hello and welcome @danlaws111 I'm not certain on whether there's any charity organisations which offer this service, or if there would be any grants which cover the costs of removals vans and the like.

Have you spoken to any removals companies about the support you'd need, and whether they can accommodate your needs?

On an unrelated note, I went to university in Swansea, so know it well :) Are you staying in the city, or moving somewhere new?

I have just been advised that it's possible that I can get help with moving costs via The Discretionary Assistance Fund.
I've been homeless for just over a month and have been waiting for a flat in Townhill to be decorated.
    Nice and quiet, cracking views.
    I'm over the moon eh.
    When was you at University?

I am really pleased for you @danlaws111. It sounds really positive that you have been advised that it's possible that you can get help with moving costs via The Discretionary Assistance Fund.

How are you managing with having been homeless for just over a month? Please don't hesitate to let us know if we can do anything to support you with this.

Hopefully the flat in Townhill will be decorated soon! It sounds lovely and quiet with cracking views and I can hear why it would make you feel so happy  :)

    Hi danlaws111,
I am Dubai resident person I recently shift my house to a new area, it was a quite difficult task to do but it gets easy with the help of a reputed company. I hire best international moving company in Dubai and they really provide me extraordinary services throughout. They are very professional and polite as well nothing of my luggage was broken or lost in this all process and it was really awesome to hear.

@danlaws111 if you haven't moved yet and are on universal credit they can help with moving costs. However, it's a loan and repayments are taken monthly out of your universal credit.

    Hi!

I'm disabled & moving in a couple of weeks. I have got help with the transportation (my dad & boyfriend) however, they are unable to move heavy items, hence most of my stuff will be in small boxes & there's no sofa's, but there is a treadmill to go upstairs (1st floor). Did you find any charities that can help with this or do you know of someone (cheap) in Westwood, Kent that can help?
