Welcome to the community from me too @badminton65
What an interesting role! It sounds fantastic. What kind of things do you talk to the children and adults about?
As teddybear12 has said, please feel free to take a look around and get stuck in. It'd be great to see you over in the following categories:
If you'd like to see what our members are talking about right now, you can head over to the recent discussions page.
What do you think are the main issues in terms of society's attitude towards disabled people?0 -

I am starting to fundraiser for SCOPE, it’s my first attempt at this. Any advice for me. I have set up a just giving page on my Facebook page. If you would like to look it over for me I’d be pleased if you give me feedback on it. My Facebook page is [Removed by moderator - full name].0

I am talking to children and adults about C.P and I do it all voluntary and I love what I do. They love asking me questions after I have done my talk. I have not done adults yet so I am anxious how to go about that. Any ideas from anyone will be very appreciated. My talk is called better lives for disabled people.0

It's fantastic that you're fundraising for us @badminton65
Thank you!
I've removed your Facebook details from your post. Do you have a link to your Just Giving page that you could share instead?0 -
I DON’T KNOW HOW TO SHARE THE JUST GIVING PAGE.

I THINK MORE EDUCATION IS NEEDED FOR PEOPLE WHO DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW DISABLED PEOPLE FUNCTION, SOME PEOPLE THINK WE SHOULD NOT LIVE ON OUR OWN OR LIVING INDEPENDENTLY WITH SUPPORT WORKERS. I HAVE HAD PEOPLE IN TOWN SHOUTING AT ME I SHOULD NOT BE OUT ON MY OWN DOING MY SHOPPING WHICH IS EMBARRASSING FOR ME. NOW I SUFFER FROM ANXIETY THAT IS TOUGH WHEN YOU DONT WANT TO GO OUT BUT I MAKE MYSELF GO OUT ON A TUESDAY AND A SATURDAY.

You should be able to copy a link to your Just Giving page, and then paste it onto the community @badminton65. Are you confident in copying and pasting? What kind of device are you using?
I'm sorry that you've had people shout things at you when you've been out. That sounds horrible, and really shouldn't be happening. I think you're right that more needs to be done to raise awareness of what it's like to be disabled, and the barriers that disabled people face.0 -
I AM NOT SURE HOW TO COPY AND PASTE. IS THERE ANY CHANCE YOU CAN HELP ME WITH THIS

What kind of device are you using @badminton65? For example, are you using a smart phone, tablet, or laptop?0
-
I I AM USING AN IPAD

I don't have an iPad @badminton65, but I've found the following video that explains how to copy and paste a link on an iPad:

Perhaps you could take a look, and let us know if you have any further questions?0 -
I might ask the library to help me. I have to be shown how to post. I have done it but years ago. I think I need to go on a course to update my skills. It has been over 10 years.0

I DON’T WHERE TO GO WITH THIS, MAYBE YOU COULD HELP ME WITH MY PROBLEM.
ON THE 18 JUNE I ARRANGED TWO FRIENDS IN ELLESMERE PORT AND WITH THE PANDEMIC I HAVE STARTED TO GET OUT AFTER BREAKING MY LEG IN HALF, I ARRANGED A BLACK CAB TO BRING MY FRIEND TO ELLESMERE PORT AND WHEN SHE WAS READY TO GO BACK TO BROMBOUROUGH I RANG A TAXI FROM THE TAXI FIRM I USE. KING KABS SHE HAD TO WAIT FOR 2 1/2 HOURS I THINK KNOW HER AND I RANG KING KABZ TWICE AND MY FRIEND RANG ONCE. I ASKED THE OPERATOR WHERE WAS THE TAXI. MINE CAME BEFORE HERS AND I BOOKED THEM AT THE SAME TIME. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN. SHE SAID THAT SHE WOULD NOT COME ANYMORE ON A SATURDAY. THATS IS NOT RIGHT IS IT. I DON’T SEE MY FRIENDS VERY OFTEN. CAN ANYBODY HELP ME.

Hi @badminton65,
At the top right hand corner of the web page there’s a little square shape with an arrow pointing upwards. If you click on that a selection of ways to share the page comes up for you to choose from.0 -
I hope someone at the library can help @badminton65
It's good that they've been able to support you in the past.
That's frustrating about the taxis! It sounds like they made a bit of a mistake there. Could you try using a different company, or pre-booking for a specific time?0
