Hi everyone!

After another post asking something specific, all your kind welcoming posts made me realise I should say a proper hello...

Disability has been a part of my life for a while, as my husband of 9 years has cerebral palsy. However 3 years ago I became ill myself with ME/CFS. By pacing myself I still manage to care for my husband, but I have had to give up work, and I live life at a slow pace with lots of resting, and always trying not to over exert myself. Going from able bodied to accepting my disability has taken time. But I do accept it now, and I've joined this community for practical tips that can help us manage life as a disabled couple 😊

A warm welcome to you @keepswimming and thanks for sharing a bit about yourself and your husband. It's great to have you join us :)

I'm glad you're finding your way around the forum, please feel free to explore. I hope you're finding it a friendly and welcoming place.

I'd recommend the Coffee Lounge as a great place to get to know other members. We've recently launched our Premier League Sweepstake which has a few spaces left, and closes on Sunday- no football experience necessary! Do get involved if it's something you fancy.

Let us know if you need a hand with anything and enjoy your evening.

    Alex
