Hi, I am new so never posted before. Was wondering if anyone could help with my question. I went on UC in Oct 2020 and my first fit note was sent in on 19th Oct 2020 I am still sending in fit notes my last one runs out on 8th August 2022 and all are for the same health condition. I had my health assessment recently and was awarded LCWRA. I think I am entitled to back pay but just wanted to clarity with someone because I have no idea how this works. My payment date is 4th of every month. Your help would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks

The waiting period is 3 full assessment periods. The extra money is then paid from the 4th month of your claim. For you the waiting period will be Oct/Nov, Nov/Dec, Dec/Jan 2021.. LCWRA starts from AP 29th Jan to 28th Feb and first payment would be 4th March 2021.This is assuming you're not claiming UC with a partner that already receives the LCWRA element on your claim. It often takes a few weeks to pay what they owe you. It will be paid separately to your usual monthly amount. First they need to recalculate your past statements so they can work out exactly what they owe you. Do be aware that once they do this, your existing statements will be replaced with the new ones. Therefore, you may want to take screenshots of your current statements.Once this is done a letter will be uploaded onto your journal telling you how much is owed.0

OP actually says their claim started in 2020 rather than 2021poppy123456 said:The waiting period is 3 full assessment periods. The extra money is then paid from the 4th month of your claim. For you the waiting period will be Oct/Nov, Nov/Dec, Dec/Jan 2021..0 -
