HI @charl1980
Lovely to hear from you. I hope you are okay this morning.
Thanks for updating us about your situation, Sorry to hear of how you are struggling with your health at the moment, long-covid is impacting so many people right now and fingers crossed there can be more support for those experiencing it in the near future.
How are you feeling about the tribunal? In terms of what to include, you mentioned having evidence from your medical team, but have you been able to submit some anecdotal evidence of your own that explains how your condition impacts your daily life and mobility?0 -
Hi Ross thanks for you reply what sort of anecdotal evidence would you suggest please0

At least 2 real world examples of exactly what happened the last time you attempted each descriptor that applies to you. Include detailed information such as where you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were. You should aim for at least half an A4 side of paper per descriptor that applies.charl1980 said:what sort of anecdotal evidence would you suggest please

Hi @charl1980
It is sometimes useful to write a submission to the tribunal if you're able to explain more clearly why you are entitled to PIP. It is not crucial as the tribunal panel will go through everything thoroughly with you at the hearing. If you're able to give examples of what activities you struggle with and exactly why you find it difficult and the help you need to carry out that activity then the Tribunal would find that useful.
You mentioned that you had problems with your shoulder because of a historic injury and that you relied on you partner to help you dress the upper part of your body.
If you need assistance dress the upper part of your body you could score 4 points. Based on what you have said you could say something along the lines of "due to a historic injury sustained to my shoulder I have limited mobility in this shoulder as evidenced in my consultants letter dated [ ] and I rely on my partner to help me dress the upper part of my body. I rely on my partner to help me for the majority or the time to put on jackets and to fasten my bra. Without my partner's help I would not be able to dress myself properly and without being in significant pain" (if that's correct? I'm not completely sure that the tribunal would accept the fact that you cant put on tight fitting tops and jackets without help as meaning you cant fulfill this descriptor. I think you should also explain the effects of long covid on you and whether as a result you have lost your motivation to do things and you rely on partner to prompt you. For this descriptor you could score 2 points and given that you have been awarded 6 points daily living if the tribunal agreed with you and awarded a further 2 points you would get a standard rate daily living component
Look at all the other PIP daily living and mobility activities in the same way and explain in each case by giving examples why you need the help, who helps you and why the help is needed. Use this advice about how to complete your PIP form to write your submission.
Good luck !
