Blue badge telephone assessment

Hello everybody
i’m just reaching out for some advice if possible
I have my blue badge telephone assessment coming up and I’m not too sure what to expect I feel a little bit nervous
The first time I applied I got refused for lack of evidence and I don’t really feel like my case was Really looked at and taken into consideration that I have mentioned so many times
I have a hidden disability not everybody has the same and I feel like I keep explaining myself to the blue badge department
so I appealed the decision and now they have gave me a telephone assessment
also I find them quite abrupt and quite rude when speaking on the phone which makes me a little bit nervous because I’m quite sensitive
I’ve spoken to quite a few customer service agents and they’re not really patient they’re quite pushy in my personal opinion has anybody else had similar experiences to myself?
Any advice would be great

What evidence have you sent them? My son gets DLA and qualified without an assessment. I’ve just been awarded PIP, and under the rules of my council area, I would qualify from the fact I receive the mobility element of PIP.
Both of these are for hidden disabilities.0 -
Thank you so much for your message I do get PIP on daily living and mobility
But I don’t automatically qualify this is why I’m currently asking for advice on an assessment blue badge0 -
I send it to my personal information my GP records and have my disability affects me on a day-to-day life0
-
I’m not automatically legible as I did not receive 8 points on moving around section I scored 10 points on unable Unfamiliar journey0
-
I have many hidden disabilities extreme anxiety and depression OCD body dysmorphia0
-
You would qualify automatically under Cheshire East council. It’s a shame other councils don’t operate the same criteria.

That’s not correct. Chrissy scored 10 points for descriptor 1D and not descriptor 1E so this doesn’t automatically qualify anyone for a BB.Rin1472 said:You would qualify automatically under Cheshire East council. It’s a shame other councils don’t operate the same criteria.
@chrisssy I’m sorry but I have no advice for you with this because I’ve never had an assessment for a BB because I’ve always automatically qualified. Good luck though!0 -
Thank you everyone for your input much appreciated
I’m still looking for advice so if anybody else on the group has had any experience with a blue badge telephone assessment please do let me0 -
@poppy123456 No I completely understand0

@Rin1472 thank you for your messages/help but @poppy123456 is correct under I don’t automatically qualify for BB as I scored 10 points under section 1D not been able to follow it unfamiliar journey I did not score 8 points on the mobility moving around part
this is why I do not automatically qualify
I once again thanks for your advice0 -
Scoring 10 points under activity 1E “can not undertake any journey” then that would also automatically qualify someone.

Apologies. I saw that you’d scored 10 points for mobility and, for some reason, saw that 10 = 10 without looking at the descriptors. I can be quite black and white with my thinking due to my autism.0
