Hi was wondering if access to work can help with transport.  I do not yet have a diagnosis but am suffering from night blindness.  I am starting a new job which involves 2 busses and a decent 10 min walk.  I am ok in daylight but am worrying about the nights drawing in for winter and being able to manage getting to and from the bus stops.  I haven't been out of the house for 3 months after dark its worrying me as I really want this job and may need taxis for some journeys if late or early in the day.

Yes, it can pay for taxi's if you can't use public transport. See link, which also has details on how to apply.

Welcome to the community @AJ100 :) Thanks for joining!

As poppy123456 has said, this is something Access to Work can cover. Here's a quote from the link above:
Access to Work could give you a grant to help pay for things like:
    • taxi fares to work or a support worker if you cannot use public transport
How are you feeling about the application process?
