Hi I'm new here! Just received text saying iv been awarded pip aswell and will recieve letter in the next 2 weeks. Anyone on here had this before me and know how long the letter and payment takes to reach you? Many thanks 😊

The payment can take 3-5 days to clear, the decision letter should come by early next week. That text message is standard for most new claimants to receive. 

You can call the PIP helpline 0800 121 4433 and press option 6 and you might be able to hear the automated voice tell you how much you will get and when you will get it.

Good news. If it's a first time claim and you're not transferring from DLA then money goes into your bank 3-5 working days after it's sent to you.

The letter usually arrives after the payment and should be with you within a couple of weeks as the text suggested.

Thanks for your replies 🙂. Iv just rang the automated voice and been informed il get 467.40p on 30th August so confused as you have both informed me il be payed in 3-5 days after text. ??. And unsure on what rate iv been awarded to be getting 467.40 on 30th. Just so new to this!! Can u help??

Also to be getting 467 on 30th is that including my back date? as confused what my award will be? Standard or enhanced?

Money owed is paid separately to your usual 4 weekly amount.

That amount suggests the award is potentially Enhanced daily living and standard mobility. Though you shouldn't rely fully on the automated payment line because it has been known to be incorrect.

The decision letter will tell you what exactly you've been awarded and what day of the week you'll receive your payments, every 4 weeks.

It sounds as though you'll be getting paid at the end of the month @blueeyes57, but you might also get a separate backdated payment too as Poppy has suggested.

Sometimes the letter can take a week or so to arrive in my experience, so hopefully it'll come through this week. Let us know how it goes, and please ask if you need any help
